Argh, potty training
How I hate thee.
Ben went through 6, or was it 7, pairs of underpants today. That doesn't include the number of accidents he had whilst nekkid.
Why spend 5 minutes sitting on the potty, say he doesn't need to go, then get up and pee 5 seconds later?! Grrr.
Good job we have wooden floors. And it was just pee :)
Katie was so much easier than this. I hope he grasps the concept soon!

So, I've really slacked off here haven't I?!
Happy 2010. Can't believe we are in a new decade, seems like only 2 mins ago there was all this talk of Y2K.
Life is life.
Jack is continuing to do well in school, he's smarter, getting a bit stronger, "eating" a bit more.
Can count to 10 easily, knows some colours, his drawing is progressing, he could tell you just about what any object is if you ask him (have to know him really to understand his speech), loves to demolish/empty things (that he shouldn't!) and asks to go on the potty as we are trying to train Ben.
Unfortunately still has a major attitude ;-)
Still tube fed and still unable to walk, but we'll keep trying.
Katie started school and is thriving. She's a bit too clever for her own good!
Knows all her letters and numbers. She's writing now and sight reading quite a few words.
Just before Christmas we received a letter through the post to congratulate her on being "Pupil of the Week" - a lovely handwritten note from her teachers saying how exceptional she was and an example to her classmates! That's my girl :)
(Totally still ADHD though. Not really, but the girl never stops!)
Ben, my goodness, he is almost 3! He went through his series of operations on his feet from Sept - Oct. Involved major surgery (3 operations) on both feet, plaster casts for 8 weeks and subsequent infection. Still in a wait and see stage as to whether it is deemed a success. Certainly much straighter, but not 100%. He has recently relearnt to walk, although is still quite robotic, especially on his left foot. Such a happy boy though, his initial slow speech has blossomed and he's my little chap. He'll be starting playgroup soon.
Tony and I have been married for over 7 years now. Still love him :)
We're currently trying to organise a "real" holiday overseas somewhere, our first since I was pregnant with Jack. It's been a long time!
Me, even MORE obsessed with running if that is possible. Ran many, many miles and took part in many races and have had a thoroughly great time. Running is my release. Have worked up to marathon distance, but am crazily entered for an ultramarathon in July - 52.4 miles. Yep, I said I was crazy! Still, just have the matter of another couple of marathons before then ;-)
Will update with pics of the kids once I get them uploaded.

Uh Oh!!!
Well it had to happen eventually. I was brushing my teeth this morning and came downstairs and saw a lock of long hair on the carpet. No, no, no.
"Katie, come here now please! What have you done??"
She came out of the sitting room and burst into tears. She'd taken Ben's racing driver suit I'd just bought off him and between cries -
"But racing car drivers have short hair, not long hair"
I found more hair in the kitchen (and the scissors!) and brushed her hair and it kept coming. Luckily, she must have cut at the back at the crown, so it is not a complete hatchet job. You can't really tell unless you know where to look.
She kept insisting she needed short, tiny little hair like Joseph (from nursery) and I had kept insisting that she was also a princess so needed long beautiful hair. It's not that long really, just shoulder length, but I was trying to grow her fringe out.
Could have been a lot worse, for her hair and her fingers!
