Deserves a mention
I know I have my running blog, but I feel very proud of myself so thought I'd give myself a shout out. I ran 10 miles this morning, did not stop one single time, the traffic was ALL in my favour with lights/junctions. 10 miles! I just keep thinking I was only up to 3 miles in March/April and now I'm covering a decent mileage, apx 35 miles per week. I'm having visions of half marathon/marathon and can't see how I would ever do that. How can anyone run 26 miles, that is insane?!

Heart appointment
Finally have a date for Katie's consult! 27th May. The day the building work starts, typical! I'll have to get Tony to see if he can stay home while I take her to the hospital. I'm fully expecting them to say everything is ok, but I'd rather get her checked out to be safe. If it is nothing, it doesn't explain the blue lips though.

Validation
Jack's school had a day trip to the Bear Factory today. They reported in his diary that they witnessed "some of the behaviours you have been mentioning". He is always very well behaved at school, but must not have been in the mood to put on a good act ;-)
Whilst I wish he would not get upset, I'm glad at least that it is not just with me. As blogged, he seems to be getting worse. He is pushing Ben now and snatching things off him and sat in the hall yesterday with his teeth clenched and literally - not full out scream, but more like "grrrrrrr" pure rage. It was unreal. Not much shocks me now, but I have never seen him like that. Him and Ben have always been best friends, although he is probably mimicking Katie here, she is very rough with both Jack and Ben.
It is really hard when they all feed off each other. Katie and Ben were trying to copy him shouting, this is not good!

Jack's eye appointment
That was the quickest hospital appointment in history. It was set for 2.40, they called us in at 2.39 and we were out by 2.50. I wish they were like that every time!
His range of vision isn't where they would have hoped for his age, but overall, they are happy. He is now using both eyes together and they are the same strength, his left eye is no longer being left behind. The best thing was that for the first time he could do the test where he "named" the pictures he saw. Signed mostly, but you could tell his words were the right ones, like fish was fi, house was how, it was so cute.

Little bear is missing
I had to go and jinx myself with that picture, didn't I.
Little bear has been missing for a week. I've managed to convince her to accept a stuffed rabbit in the meantime, but I just don't know where it could be. She definitely went to bed with it one night, I didn't get up with her the next morning (Tony did) so don't know if she brought it downstairs. I've looked everywhere I can think of. Poor Katie.

Mama
Finally! Ben is not particularly verbal. He babbles (a lot!), but no real words.
He started repeating mama today, it was just so cute. I think he was referring to me and not just uttering some random jargon. It was so strange to hear such a young voice speak to me :)

Freecycle
We finally signed up to give some of our unused items away, but I didn't realise it would be so hard! Not the actual process, but the decision making. Am I totally crazy? I felt really bad when deciding who to give something to. In the end I made an assumption and went with the person who mentioned her daughter liking something in the sensory room. I was going to draw names until I got that email. I take far too many things to heart!

Long day!
Tony was off work for the bank holiday, not that he got to actually take the day "off". We spent from 11.30am - 9.50pm assembling a large metal shed for the garden so that we can move everything out of the garage ready for the conversion work for the kids' playroom/Jack's developmental room.
The kind of shed where every single little nut and bolt and every little piece of the structure had to be done manually. Still, it is done. I enjoyed it myself, I love doing things like that. I had to do it to Tony though... we were packing everything up and although it was a long job, everything went smoothly. We came back into the house and I lifted a bag up and said "ahhhhh, no", pretending we'd had some essential parts left over. He fell for it for about 2 seconds ;-)

Ah, Jack
The behaviour is not getting any better. Not at all. In fact, it seems worse now that he can say "no" perfectly.
Me - "Jack, should we...?"
Jack - "NO!" with a dismissing sweep of the arm.
He's starting to get rough with me physically, in his own way. Ok, he can't really hurt me (yet), but it's not nice, especially since he can't do anything for himself.

One of those weeks
Where I felt like I just didn't want to contribute to anything. I'll try to keep up more from now.
