"Do Deps, Jack"
He's on the move! After having been prepared a couple of months ago for the possibility that he may never walk, he is starting to get around. Greatly encouraged by his little (but bigger) sister standing at the doorway chanting "Do deps (two steps), Jack....do deps". Then he obliges by a combination of bum shuffling across the floor, rolling, sitting and pivoting. He can now get from one room to another! Katie tries to help him not bang his head on the doorframe, "watch head, Jack". So sweet!!! I guess that makes up for the times she's pushing him over, wrestling him into the floor or just plain trying to stand on top of his chest when he's lying down. They kinda have a love-hate relationship. Yes, she can bully him, but when he laughs at something she's doing, she does it that bit more for him to make him laugh harder.

This is just so great to see. Ok, he is WAY off being able to crawl or stand or walk, but for the first time in his life, he has some mobility. Please let this help him with his frustration level. It has been a tough week for all of us, he has been very upset and just doesn't have the tools to tell us what he wants. He's trying so hard to speak and use his signs, I can see great things ahead for him. Two more weeks until he starts nursery school full time.

Ben has been crying all day from what I'm guessing is teething. He will not sleep at all and is exhausting himself and us. His gums are all bumpy, but no signs of those first teeth cutting through just yet. Katie was around 6 months so it could be any time now. Of course, Jack's first tooth was 3 weeks before his 2nd birthday!
